# Analytics

> How many subscribers you have, and how your emails are doing.

Analytics gives a quick health check for an environment: how your list is growing, how many people opted out, and how many emails sent, failed or bounced.

Or ask [your agent](https://docs.subscriber.dev/mcp.md): "How did sending go this month?"

> [tab] CLI
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> subscriber analytics
> subscriber analytics --days 7
> ```

> [tab] TUI
>
> Open **Analytics**. It shows the last 30 days.

> [tab] API
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> curl "https://api.subscriber.dev/analytics?days=7" -H "x-api-key: $KEY"
> ```

## What the numbers mean

`--days` (1 to 365, default 30) only changes the two "in period" counts. Everything else is all-time.

| Number | Meaning |
| - | - |
| Subscribers | Everyone in the environment, opted in or not. |
| New in period | Subscribers added in the last `days` days. |
| Opted out | Subscribers who are opted out of email. |
| Opted out in period | Subscribers who opted out in the last `days` days. |
| Sent | Emails and webhooks handed off successfully. |
| Failed | Steps that failed after three tries. See [Troubleshooting](https://docs.subscriber.dev/troubleshooting.md#failed-steps). |
| Skipped | Steps deliberately not sent, such as to opted-out subscribers. See [Troubleshooting](https://docs.subscriber.dev/troubleshooting.md#skipped-steps). |
| Pending | Steps waiting for their delay. |
| Bounced | Emails your provider couldn't deliver, split into hard and soft. |
| Success rate | Sent ÷ (sent + failed). Skipped steps don't count against it. |

## What to watch

* **Bounces:** a hard bounce rate above about 2% hurts your sending reputation. Clean your list, and use a provider that [suppresses bounces](https://docs.subscriber.dev/sending.md#bounces) automatically.
* **Opt-outs in period:** a jump after a broadcast means it went to people who didn't expect it.
* **Failed:** anything above zero usually means a provider problem. Check the run's reason.

Analytics doesn't track opens or clicks.
